Dear CPBL families:

Babe Ruth League, Inc., the charting organization for Babe Ruth Baseball, no longer requires travel players in the Babe Ruth division (13-15U) to play recreational (rec) baseball.  In an ongoing effort to provide the best rec baseball opportunity in the Capital District for players in the Babe Ruth division (13-15U), CPBL will follow this rule and no longer require its travel players (13-15U) to play rec as well.  This will allow for a better alignment of talent at these age groups giving kids of all skill levels more opportunity to enjoy the sport they grew up playing with their family and friends.

CPBL encourages ALL kids in the 13-15U age group to sign up for Babe Ruth rec baseball.  For those players new to the Babe Ruth Division, this is an opportunity to play baseball on the same size fields as the pros play on.  Recent Shen graduates and current MLB players Branden Cogswell (Oakland A’s), Justin Yurchak (Chicago White Sox) and Ian Anderson (Atlanta Braves) all played on these fields!

Please contact Bill Shutt (VP of Babe Ruth, CPBL) or Scott Ziter (President, CPBL) with any questions.
